Vernacare Product Recall - Clinisan Bodywash
A Product Recall notice has been issued by Vernacare, the manufacturer of Clinisan Bodywash.
The products listed below are being voluntarily recalled with immediate effect as a precautionary measure. A copy of the full recall notice can be found on the below link as well as at the bottom of this article.
PRODUCT RECALL - CLINISAN BODYWASH - SBA250 & SBA500
Affected products include all in-date batches (latest expiry date: 3rd July 2025) of 250ml and 500ml Clinisan Bodywash.
We've worked closely with Vernacare to create a new process for the Product Recall that does not require the items to be returned or sent back to us. The affected products simply need to be disposed of in your usual general waste.
If you have purchased either of the affected products, you will have received an email asking you to complete a short survey to obtain a refund of any remaining, disposed of product you have.
If you have not received an email, the Product Recall does not apply to you.
Clinisan Bodywash has been made available in two different sizes.

If you have received an email relating to the Product Recall and you still have either of the above-listed products within an expiry date up to, and including, the 3rd of July 2025, you'll be entitled to a refund of the price paid for the product.

If you have not received an email, the Product Recall does not apply to you.
Why is the recall taking place
- Vernacare, the manufacturer of Clinisan Bodywash, have listed the reason for the recall as 'Microbial contamination was detected in certain product batches. This contamination can be a safety risk and therefore all batches are being voluntarily recalled as a precautionary measure'.
Is it still safe to use?
- The reason for the recall is that microbial contamination was detected in certain product batches. This contamination can be a safety risk and therefore all batches, up to and including those with an expiry date of the 3rd of July 2025, are being voluntarily recalled as a precautionary measure. Vernacare, the manufacturer of Clinisan Bodywash, has recommended that the product be disposed of in your general waste.
Do I need to send the items back to you?
- No. Any affected products can be simply disposed of in your general waste. Once you have disposed of the product, fill in the online form sent via email and our Customer Service team will issue a refund for the price paid within 28 days. If you have not received an email relating to the Product Recall, the recall does not apply to you.
What products are affected?
- The two products affected are:
- Clinisan Bodywash - 250ml (Product Code: SBA250)
- Clinisan Bodywash - 500ml (Product Code: SBA500)
How should I dispose of the affected items?
- If you have any of the affected products, they can simply be disposed of in your general waste. Once you've disposed of the product, complete the online form sent via email and our Customer Service team will issue a refund of the price paid within 28 days. How do I claim my refund?
- Full details on how to claim your refund for any affected products you may have can be found in the email you've received. If you have not received an email relating to a product recall, then you are not affected by the recall notice and no further action is required.
When and how will I receive my refund?
- Once you have completed the online form sent to you via email, our Customer Service team will issue the refund back to the payment method used to purchase the item(s) within 28 days of receiving your claim. Should there be an issue with completing the refund, our Customer Service team will be in touch.
